2018 Annual Assembly
We have selected Prague as the location for our 3rd Annual Assembly. Regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, the stylish capital of the Czech Republic is brimming with grand historical and cultural sights.
The city's Gothic and Bohemian Baroque architecture provides a magical setting in which to experience Prague’s contemporary art, dining and entertainment. Over 65 airlines fly to Prague on regular routes from 140+ destinations worldwide.
Our event will take place from 18-20 March 2018 at the Prague Marriott Hotel, conveniently located in the Old Town providing easy access to many of Prague's most notable attractions, including Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge.
Representatives from all major world markets are expected at our conference which will consist of a Welcome Gala Dinner, 1-2-1 Business Meetings, Team-building City Hunt and a fun Dinner Excursion. See Agenda
With over 20 years’ experience of organising international freight conferences, Cargo Connections management are aware that face-to-face meetings are integral in developing and maintaining business. Our online Meeting Manager system enables each delegate to schedule individual business meetings before they arrive.

WELCOME RECEPTION & GALA DINNER
At 19:00 on Sunday 18 March we will gather to collect name badges, meet fellow delegates and enjoy a Welcome Reception. We will then settle at our tables for an elegant Gala Banquet where we will enjoy a selection of appetizers, a salad bar, soup of the day, main courses with meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options. There will also be a wide selection of desserts, homemade ice-cream and sorbets and an international cheese selection. A fantastic Cymbalo band called Grajcar with traditional folk instruments will entertain us with arrangements of modern songs - see them online. The evening includes a Marriott Open Bar until 22:30 so no bar bills!
All registered delegates gain access to our online Meeting Manager program, developed especially for Cargo Connections so that 20-minute business meetings can be arranged prior to arrival. During these important sessions, delegates were able to introduce their company and highlight their specialist areas, discuss cross trade and potential collaborations as well as providing information regarding their country’s regulations and requirements. These crucial meetings also provided an opportunity to share key import and export trade information.
Our Monday evening we will all head to Kolkovna Celnice, a local restaurant that accentuates the pride in the long and famous tradition of Czech beer brewing. Owned by the Pilsner brewery, the venue is decorated with period photos and brewing equipment. We will enjoy camembert cheese on white toast with cranberries, toasted almonds and rocket salad followed by grilled chicken with steamed broccoli and baked jacket potato with chive sour cream and finishing with homemade rhubarb cake with almond crumble. Accompanying our dinner will be traditional Czech beer, house wine and soft drinks. We will be entertained by Colorful Trio, a hugely talented band playing a wide range of musical genres from jazz standards, R&B, soul, pop to Latin-American music.
TEAM-BUILDING CITY HUNT
We want to provide you with more than the usual bus tour and have prepared a fun, interactive way for you to see the beautiful city of Prague. Therefore, we will take part in City Hunt on Monday afternoon, a fun team building game where we will use creativity, orientation skills and time management to solve a series of clues that combine history and legends as we walk through the beautiful streets of the Old Town in small groups. The game will finish with an Award Ceremony back in our meeting room at 16:00. The afternoon will be a great combination of getting to know each other better and seeing the city of Prague in a fun way. See Flyer
The majority of Members recognise the importance of supporting and actively contributing to those who are less fortunate. We are aware that a small effort from each Member can make a big impact to those in need. Our Foundation provides the opportunity for Members to be able to make a difference to people’s lives through annual fundraising.
We aim to include as much in the Registration Fee as possible in order to keep each delegate's expenses to an absolute minimum. This year the fee of GB £650 per delegate includes all of the following:
- Welcome Reception & Gala Dinner including Marriott Open Bar (Sun)
- Dinner Excursion including traditional Czech beer, wine and soft drinks (Mon)
- Meeting Room Hire including AV Equipment (Mon & Tue)
- Team-Building City Hunt (Mon)
- Unlimited soft drinks and mineral water in the Meeting Room (Mon & Tue)
- Morning and Afternoon Coffee Breaks with Sweet & Savoury Snacks (Mon & Tue)
- Buffet Lunch including soft drink and coffee or tea (Mon & Tue)
- Conference Bag & Official Group Photograph DVD
- Access to Meeting Manager System
If you would like to bring your spouse or partner with you, they can join us for the Welcome Reception & Gala Dinner on Sunday and City Hunt & Dinner Excursion on Monday for GB £175. Please note that anyone attending our 1-2-1 Meetings will need to pay the full rate of GB £650. The Registration Fee is non-refundable. However, you may change the name of your representative at any time.
The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union (EU) and of the Schengen area. Visas are not required for stays up to 90 days by citizens of many countries. However, as requirements will vary from nation to nation, we would suggest that you contact the local Czech Republic Embassy within your own country or a travel agent specialising in visa applications.
